{"id":3959,"date":"2010-02-04T15:25:36","date_gmt":"2010-02-04T20:25:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theworldbyroad.com\/?p=3959"},"modified":"2010-02-04T15:37:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-04T20:37:00","slug":"thank-you-everyone-for-voting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theworldbyroad.com\/expedition\/2010\/02\/04\/thank-you-everyone-for-voting","title":{"rendered":"Thank you everyone for voting!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The voting ended for the Reader&#8217;s Choice Adventurer of the Year Award.\u00c2\u00a0 Thanks to everyone for taking the time to vote for us.\u00c2\u00a0 Unfortunately we did not win, however, since the issue that featured us as Adventurers of the Year was the last issue of National Geographic Adventure in print, the prize of being featured in a future issue is no longer to be awarded.<\/p>\n<p>It was truly an honor to be featured in the magazine as one of the Adventurers of the Year and I suppose it is also pretty cool that we can say we were in the final issue as well.\u00c2\u00a0 So all is not lost.<\/p>\n<p>It has been great to have all of you follow us for the last two years and beyond the Nat Geo article we have also been recently featured in a few local papers as well, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coloradoan.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=2009312310001\" target=\"_blank\">a front page feature in the Fort Collins Coloradoan<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 They followed up with<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coloradoan.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=20101130303\" target=\"_blank\"> a more in depth article later in the week<\/a> in their Explorer section.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, today there is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reporterherald.com\/features\/Feature-Story.asp?section=Outpost&amp;ID=26790\" target=\"_blank\">an article in the Loveland Reporter Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When we were up for the NGA award, I put together<strong><span style=\"font-size: large;\"> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theworldbyroad.com\/photos-for-ngs\">this page<\/a><\/span><\/strong> with some of our highlighted stories from the expedition.\u00c2\u00a0 It is a nice walk down memory lane and for those of you who are new to the site and expedition, it is a great way to see some of our favorite highlights.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, both Bouey and I have had to buckle down and get some real jobs since we returned, so the book and documentary are coming a little slower than we had hoped, but we are working away and hoping to have the book ready in the near future.\u00c2\u00a0 Make sure to sign up for our updates with the signup to the right so you will know when they are available.<\/p>\n<p>Also, we have been doing many more speaking engagements lately and getting a great response.\u00c2\u00a0 Very soon we will have a page up on the site outlining our presentation options and until then <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theworldbyroad.com\/media-inquiries-and-appearances\" target=\"_blank\">please feel free to contact us<\/a> for more information about bookings.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks again for all of your continued support!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The voting ended for the Reader&#8217;s Choice Adventurer of the Year Award.
