border-top-style: none! important; border-right-style: none! important; border-left-style: none! important; border-bottom-style: none! important\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=theworldbyroa-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0226500667\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Quote of the Week: <\/strong>The following quotes are a direct result from our crew spending 24 hours a day, 7 days a week together, and now more on our own in Denver.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153<\/strong>I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been worried sick, where have you guys been?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Steven Shoppman to Craig Johnson and I after we went to the grocery store\u00c2\u00a0 (gone for 30 minutes)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153<\/strong>How you doing?\u00c2\u00a0 I miss you, man.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u201cCraig Johnson in a cell phone call to me (6 hours of not seeing each other)<\/p>\n<p>It was another crazy week for us on the road.\u00c2\u00a0 The week began in Austin at <a href=\"http:\/\/hiaustin.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hostelling International-Austin<\/a>, where they graciously set up a dorm room\/work room for us in their television room, and ended in one of the greatest cities in the world, Denver, Colorado.\u00c2\u00a0 From Austin we made the 551 mile trek to Roswell, New Mexico, where UFO shops, museums and a research center showcase the 1947 Roswell UFO incident.\u00c2\u00a0 A nice Days Inn on the main road through the town had both cable and high speed internet, so for the first time in awhile we were able to sit back, relax and got to watch the NCAA national championship game.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin: 5px; border-right-width: 0px\" title=\"017\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theworldbyroad.com\/expedition\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/017.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"017\" width=\"354\" height=\"266\" align=\"left\" \/> Tuesday brought the Sequoia with Shoppman and Houston-to-Santa Fe crew member, Benjamin Davis, to Albuquerque, and brought the other crew members in the Tundra directly to Santa Fe to check into the great boutique hotel, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.innonthealameda.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Inn on the Alameda<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Shoppman, in a whirlwind of media contact, got contacted by Associated Press journalist who wrote a <a href=\"http:\/\/cbs4denver.com\/coloradowire\/22.0.html?type=local&amp;state=CO&amp;category=n&amp;filename=NM--AroundtheWorld.xml\" target=\"_blank\">great article<\/a> about the expedition, and got us some great national attention.\u00c2\u00a0 The rest of us arrived in Santa Fe for a tour of the relaxing and peaceful Inn on the Alameda.\u00c2\u00a0 This was exactly what we needed before our final push to Denver.\u00c2\u00a0 The Inn had beautiful garden courtyards surrounding by adobe walls, cozy and comfortable rooms, showcased authentic Southwestern flavor and traditional Pueblo-style architecture, and employs two of the kindest people we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve talked to in awhile, Judith and Charlie.\u00c2\u00a0 Their enthusiasm for our project was incredible, and mine was the same for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artcharlie.com\/Site\/abstractions_p.1.html\" target=\"_blank\">Charlie\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s art<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 He spends time at the Inn as their bartender, and in his studio producing great pieces of art.\u00c2\u00a0 Make it to the Inn On The Alameda and say, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153hello\u00e2\u20ac\u009d to Judith and Charlie for us.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, again, found us in a state of anxiousness.\u00c2\u00a0 We were six hours away from where the trip began, none other than Denver, Colorado.\u00c2\u00a0 The trucks has been out of the state for 26 months, had travelled over land for nearly 70,000 miles, travelled in containers in cargo ships over many oceans, and had entered nearly 70 countries.\u00c2\u00a0 Like the trucks, Shoppman and Bouey\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s accomplishment is next to none.\u00c2\u00a0 They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve done something that not too many people have ever done, and this journey is epic.\u00c2\u00a0 I, along with the other crew members, are really proud of them.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-top-width: 0px; display: block; border-left-width: 0px; float: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin: 5px auto; border-right-width: 0px\" title=\"045\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theworldbyroad.com\/expedition\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/045.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"045\" width=\"504\" height=\"379\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We crossed beside the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Welcome to Colorful Colorado\u00e2\u20ac\u009d sign and truly felt like we were home.\u00c2\u00a0 The beauty of the snow capped Rocky Mountain Range that stretched to the left of the highway was a great first sight of our homeland.\u00c2\u00a0 We pushed northbound on I-25, saw the Mile High City ahead, and finally made it to Shoppman\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sister\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s house where family, friends and Channel 7 news were waiting for us.\u00c2\u00a0 It was really great to see some familiar faces, and to see the support.\u00c2\u00a0 All of us really appreciate all the support, and know this couldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t be done without all of you.\u00c2\u00a0 Our families, friends and sponsors have been instrumental in the success of this expedition, and will be crucial for its completion.\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a daunting goal to travel the world\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s roads with two trucks, filled with ups and downs, triumphs, trials and tribulations, but the support keeps us stable our continued dedication to promoting the awareness of diversity of people and cultures of the world keep us moving on.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 625px;\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\" align=\"center\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"253\" valign=\"top\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin: 0px; border-right-width: 0px\" title=\"040\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theworldbyroad.com\/expedition\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/040.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"040\" width=\"308\" height=\"232\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Thursday was our day of relaxation, which was desperately needed, and ended with a wonderful concert, AuNaturAlice 5, put on by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alice1059.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alice 105.9<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 If you have yet to listen to Brett Dennen or Matt Nathanson, I strongly suggest you do, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s well worth a listen.\u00c2\u00a0 Another good listen is Shoppman and Bouey\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Friday radio interview with, David Sirota, on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theworldbyroad.com\/music\/Friday%204-10%20Hour%204.mp3  \" target=\"_blank\">AM 760<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday marked the day of our return home festival at Katie and Nate Rollysons\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a great combination of people, food, beverages, old crew members, family, friends, pets, radio broadcasters, and a chance for everyone to sit back, look at some pictures and catch up on lost time.\u00c2\u00a0 Nate and Katie are always great hosts, and all the work they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve done to help us is very much appreciated.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-top-width: 0px; The week began in Austin at Hostelling International-Austin, where they graciously set up a dorm room\/work room for us in their television room, and ended in one of the greatest cities in the world, Denver, Colorado. From Austin we made the 551 mile trek to Roswell, New Mexico, where UFO shops, museums and a research center showcase the 1947 Roswell UFO incident.
